Cyber Security: Scytale Cipher Newscast
In our video of the Scytale cipher, we showed how the cipher was made and used around its time period. The cipher was used in war to send messages to Spartan allies. The video we made followed by showcasing an interview of the creator and asking questions to them, having a couple news stories about the cipher, and a funny commercial relating to the topic of the Greek. The video included gods of the Greek like Hermes, and Zeus that were able to show the information about the cipher.
While making this video I was able to learn more about this specific cipher, and ciphers as a whole. The Scytale cipher is used by wrapping a piece of paper around a firm object and writing your message and unraveling it. It completely scrambles the message around but you still have the original letters. It would appear like a rolled up piece of paper that you would just roll again to form the message so it’s not that good of a cipher.
I learned from this project how to work better as a team together. I learned how to separate the load of the work and work together to get the project done as swiftly, efficiently, and effectively as possible. I also learned how to use the Scytale cipher and what it is. Before I had no idea and now I know another cipher that I will keep forever with me.
